What Makes A Book Christian?

Can you answer this question? Is a book Christian because it is based on testimony? Can any genre book be Christian just by virtue of it's writers religious preference? Or is a Christian book a specific genre that is developing before our eyes? Can a non Christian write a Christian book?

We have many writers that profess to be Christian book writers. I agree. A Christian book, if fiction, is largely based on the tesimony that it brings. It is very important that a Christian book be inspiring to fellow Christians as well as non-Christians. It should depict God and all of His glory. If there is to be a non-Christian who would attempt to write a Christian book, he or she would have to be a very convincing artist, because you have to believe in what you are writing. A writer whose faith in one's work doesn't show, will not be a very successful writer. It would prove very difficult to write on a subject in which one does not believe, especially something like a religion. My favorite Christian writer, other than myself, is Michele Andrea Bowen. If other than a scholarly/theological treatise the testimony is what largely makes a book Christian. However, when we cross genres (i.e. fiction, leadership, finances, etc.) we want to ensure that morality, integrity and realism are elements which guide the written work and is undergirded by Christian principles of faith.
