If you'd like your BAS blog featured, follow these rules:

1) Add something of value to the entire community, not just "come buy my stuff". Add a poem, essay, tip, or any idea/information that will interest readers.

2) Make the entry coherent and topical. Book reviewers that blog are always interesting, Poems that have an introduction with information telling why or how you wrote the piece are great for featuring.

3) Don't just insert a video with no explanation or lead-in text. Why? When? Who? How?

4) Don't just put up a title and a link to another site. This tells the potential reader absolutely nothing. Why should they bother to click the link? Give at least a paragraph or two of teaser text. I normally take the first paragraph of the item from another site, then add "Click here to continue" or something to that affect. It's also just downright rude to this site - you show you obviously don't care about sharing real information, just getting someone to your website. If you provide good content and goodwill, they will come.

5) Add keyword tags to your blog entry. This will make it easier to find your work when searching the site. Remember that the blogs and discussions on this site are twittered every 4 to 6 hours.

SPAM IS SO NOT COOL!

Please do not greet everyone on the site with large images and announcements of your book or business. Yes, you want to tell the world, but learn the fine art of subtlety. A simple welcome and signature/link is fine. Let them ask you for more.
We have lost numerous members because of the amount of 'friend' mail they instantly receive. This Hurts Everyone.
Spam is unsolicited advertising, whether it is posted as comments on other members' pages or is emailed for marketing purposes.

Please be considerate. Post your advertisement in the proper Articles/Forum or Group. There are free classifieds on the Pages tab. You can post your information on your profile and even update your blog as often as you like.

We are not into censorship, so please don't make us ask you to leave. Be kind and unselfish - don't spam.
