This year social media has given me the opportunity to develop a cost-effective market strategy to support my debut novel, Love's Troubadours - Karma: Book One and related products and services. During the process I have been blessed with many social media adventures as a blogger, content publisher, social networking site builder, online community member of many social networking sites, radio host, financial supporter of political bloggers and candidates who represent my interests, and conference participant at the first annual Blogging While Brown Conference. As a result, my passion for technology and social media has increased significantly. My connections to people online and offline have generated a wealth of information, support, opportunities to honor and highlight the great work that others are doing in their local communities, wisdom, and life lessons on how to master and manage my emotional and spiritual energy as I do the work I am called to do.
The greatest blessings have come from the lessons on how to master and manage my emotional and spiritual energy. I refer to the lessons as blessings because I have used them to:
1) listen and respond peacefully to the concerns of others
2) take responsibility for my actions
3) establish and maintain healthy boundaries with self-care practices
4) identify and protect myself from online and offline emotional attacks, anger, stalking behavior, and negative energy
5) release expectations, judgments, and perceptions about people's choices in how they create, communicate, define and offer support, and interact
The bottom line for me is that I maintain an open heart so that I can do the work Spirit has called me to do. That's my purpose. I can't control what people think, say, do, or feel. I can't control whether they understand, accept, and/or support my work. All I can do is speak, think, act, create, serve, respect, and support myself and others with an open heart to the best of my abilities. So I have to move myself to a place of being able to bless people and know that there is more than enough online and offline space to create community, positive collaborations, brand awareness, clientbases, creative expression, financial income, and more. This is not easy for me to do every day, but it is my intention. My intention is rooted in my knowing and trusting that Spirit will guide me to the people and opportunities that I am supposed to be connected to in a healthy, respectful, emotionally balanced, peaceful, compassionate, understanding, loving, and positive environment. When it is all said and done, everyone and everything that appears in my life is for my greatest and higher good. The key is remembering this truth when things get messy!
