The one best thing about Black Author Showcase? Sorry, so many . . . perhaps, my absolute favorite is discovering new authors and new trends of thought from around the world. I love meeting and greeting new readers and writers from different countries and backgrounds yet all sharing a common goal. I like reading the excerpts of new books . . . somewhere deep in BAS is the next Richard Wright or Maya Angelou. Someone here is writing the next "Roots" or "Their Eyes Were Watching God". But perhaps, maybe, just maybe, the most exciting aspect of being a member of the BAS is participating and helping that dedicated author to bring enlightenment to all of us through prose, poetry or art.
BAS is a community effort; members drive this website -- readers, writers, editors, photographers, graphic artists, designers, publicists, publishers, and others who help bring a book to life. We all are committed to creating a nurturing environment using the tools and services of the 21st century.
I don't believe there is any "one best thing" about BAS. I believe are are more than 900 good things. And, much thanks for being #912.
We are all "agents of literary change."
