CNN...
I'll flip to TV Land
and take a peek
at Rin Tin Tin...
Instead of viewin'
Fox News...
I may catch Different Strokes
or Hill Street
Blues...
Lord...just let
Fiction take away
from the friction reality
has manifested...
My heart, mind, and
wits have been
seriously tested...
All I hear about
are lay-offs
natural disasters
oil prices
and vices
that people turn towards
as they approach
hard times' door step...
Media incites hysteria
from everything dealing
with polygamy all the way
to bigotry within the political scene...
as people preach CONSERVE
but I'm not the one controlling the RESERVE...
IF YOU GOT SOME BAD NEWS...
DO NOT CALL ME!
IF YOU DO CALL ME...
Give me some good news...
Tell me that there is still some love
in the world...
Tell me that God is not angry at
the stupidy
caused
by the in-humility
of mankind...
As history
is slowly rewinding
the tape of time...
Calamity
is ringing
while hell's bells...chime...
I guess I'll have to do like Stevie
and treat myself to all the pretty places
in my head...and thank God for another
opportunity to be among the living...and not the dead...
BUT PLEASE...DON'T GIVE ME ANY MORE BAD NEWS...

Marc, have you considered uploading this as a video on youtube and other video social networking communities? I imagine that if you were to do this once a week you would build a following rather quickly. Per one reader here you've already have someone that's read your piece via myspace.

Greetings...
Actually, I do have a couple of videos on youtube. However, I do not have the time or resources (although I'd like to) to put something out weekly. I'm currently working on another spoken word cd and it's primarily taking up most of my time. I do appreciate your suggestion brother. Time permitting...I'll certainly try to make it happen.
